Will anyone take his place as an advocate for freedom and U.S. interests abroad?
But his memory shouldn’t pass without recalling the principles he fought for. Above all, he believed that America is a force for good in the world. Perhaps in part because of his time overseas in the Air Force, he believed U.S. military, economic and diplomatic power could be marshaled to expand freedom in the world in the American national interest.
In that cause, he was crucial to the defense of Ukraine against Russia’s marauding, and Israel against Iran and its terrorist proxy militias.
